Instagram Relationships Aren’t Real Life
Why Covenant Love Grows in Ordinary Moments

Scroll through Instagram and relationships can start to look perfect.
Beach vacations. Surprise proposals. Sunset dinners. Engagement photos that look like movie posters. It’s easy to believe that everyone else has figured out relationships while yours feels messy, ordinary, or uncertain. But social media rarely shows what actually builds love.
Love Is Mostly Built on Tuesdays
Most relationships aren’t built during dramatic moments. They’re built in the ordinary ones. Driving to work. Cooking dinner. Working through disagreements. Encouraging each other after hard days. These quiet moments rarely make it onto social media, but they’re where trust and intimacy grow.
The Problem with Comparison
Comparison is one of the fastest ways to drain joy from a relationship. When we constantly measure our story against someone else’s highlight reel, we start believing something is wrong if our relationship doesn’t look the same.
But every couple’s journey is different. Different personalities. Different backgrounds. Different seasons. What matters most isn’t how your relationship looks online. It’s how it grows in real life.
Covenant Love Values Faithfulness
Culture often celebrates excitement. Covenant celebrates faithfulness. Faithfulness looks like:
Showing patience when someone is struggling
Choosing forgiveness after disagreements
Supporting each other’s growth
Staying committed through ordinary seasons
These things might not be flashy. But they’re powerful.
Real Love Is Built Slowly
Healthy relationships usually develop gradually. Trust grows through consistency. Respect grows through honesty. Connection grows through shared experiences. None of this happens overnight. And that’s okay. God often builds the most meaningful things slowly.
When You Feel Behind
Sometimes young adults feel like they’re behind. Friends are getting married. Engagement photos fill their feed. Relationships seem to move forward for everyone else. But life is not a race. God is not working from someone else’s timeline. Your story matters too.
The Beauty of Ordinary Love
One day, years from now, the moments you’ll treasure most probably won’t be the Instagram posts. They’ll be the ordinary days. The conversations. The laughter. The prayers. That’s where covenant love lives.
And that kind of love lasts far longer than any highlight reel.
